Reasons for entering into the therapeutic process

People seek therapy when they are experiencing uncomfortable symptoms such as disrupted sleep, overwhelming sadness or worry, grief, emotions which come up without control, bothersome thoughts, worries, fears which are intrusive, panic, lack of energy or difficulty concentrating.

Often, people seek therapy when they struggle with low self-esteem or lack of confidence, feelings of worthlessness or hopelessness, or a lack of motivation or direction.

Sometimes, a person seeks therapy when struggling to adjust to a major life change. One might have experienced a significant accident or trauma which is continuing to affect the person. Chronic pain may be taking a toll and wearing a person down.

Often, people seek therapy when their relationships with others are suffering. My service is directed toward the individual and that individual’s growth. Though I am not offering marriage or family therapy, our individual work may result in improvements in other relationships. Our individual work may also result in significant changes in relationships, even the decision to move on from a relationship. At times, we may bring in family members to help them better understand what you are going through so that they may be more supportive.

Ultimately, people seek therapy when they want to make improvements in their lives for more enjoyment and fulfillment.
